Guest John89
Here is my take on how and what to install in a mk4 Cabby, it won't be everyones taste or loudness but it does for me First up go and do some shopping.... So i did over my local Halfrauds 1 450 watt Fli amp for a 12in mutant sub 1 900 watt Fli amp 4 channel for the 4 speakers 1 set of Fusion 5/14 in components 1 set of Fli 4in co axials for the front kick panels Cutting the original hole just a little larger for the Woofer and my ingenious tweeter location The woofer in place. I thought the crossovers were too nice to hide away so they are on display Then onto the front kick panels..... replacements awaiting fitment. straight in no cutting ..nice.. Then onto the best bit.. The amps This weedy 150watt junk was trying to run a sub i use the term trying very loosely a nice 450watt bridged amp now takes care of the bass Wiring in the 900watt amp for the components and front speakers.. Covers on and ready for action (wires are untidy but there are so many and when the seat is shut you can't see em all finished and hidden away and now it sounds much better although now i need a power cap and sound deadening but that will be another weekend Hope this helps anyone who wonders what speakers/ amps to fit it gives you an idea what can be done on a budget... my budget was 300 pounds and i came in under that at 285 quid

Guest John89
Have noticed it will need a power cap of some sort after half volume the lights dim and the rev counter fluctuates in time with the base (its like having a VU meter on my dash) :happy001:
Escort Cabriolet Club
Looks great mate, loving the pod instals !!! Go for a 2.0 Powercap, that should do for your requirements !!! As for cable management, mount the amps and cap on a board, or in my case, a cuboard door lol !!! :happy001:
