Guest MR G
Hi guys, Been trying to search to see if there is a way around this, but when I shut my car door, the window doesn't go under the outer seal, but rather on top of it, I have to literally slam the door by the glass also to make it shut. It's almost as if the seal is too stiff, the hood is very new apparently. However, I was searching on the forum before posting, and apparently you can adjust the windows so they don't go quite so high, I am not sure this is what I need to do, but I only need maybe 2mm adjustment for all to be well Sorry for so many questions straight away Mike

Guest suffolk04
i've got the same problem on my mk4, took door trim off, but the bolt that stops the windows going too far is missing!!! so what i have to do is, sit in the car (door closed), send the window all the way up, then quickly tap the down button to send the window down a tad. was a pain at first, but got usd to it now
Guest MR G
Hi All, Thank you for all your help With Haynes in hand I decided to tackle the window yesterday. Removed the doorcard and had the same problem as above. No screw. So I removed the interior plastic cover and had a good look. It seems that the adjustment bolt is not where haynes points out, but much further back and lower. You should be able to see that the bolt can move up and down if you unscrew it. Lower the window entirely, undo the bolt slightly and push it down to adjust down, and up to go up. I will try and take some photo's when the doorcard is next off for those who have this type of motor like me... The window now shuts 100% on the drivers door, though the passengers is just not quite right. I think it is due to a stiff seal on the hood....
