badger
hi gang well here goes i have a mk4 1.6 carb and want to put 2 ltr mondeo lump(which i have in garage) in i know i need to replace sump, flywheel, water pump etc etc. what i need to know is fuel system? do i go for twin 40's or injection (what would i need to do this), exhaust solutions (what best for this)and i'll need to upgrade brakes as well (it's no good going like s**t if you can't stop the bugger) i'm pretty good with a spaner and have rebuilt a zetec after head gasket went, replaced clucth's and done straight forward engine swaps so i'm ready to take on anything just need as much advise to steer me in the right direction and pick up the views of those that have done this before...any help will be most welcome.... Guest markeyboy
there are loads of different brakes that ya can fit to the mk4, with the rsturbo ones probably being the easiest (maby stright swap) no2lurch has just finished putting a zetec in his mk4, try to get in touch with him about the other bits you need, hes also fitting rst brakes to his as for the other bit suchas fueling and the ignition im afraid i cant help best of luck tho matey
Guest no2lurch
markeyboy is right... i have just put a zetec engine in, and i am goign to put rst brakes on too. have a look in the 'show us yours' sction as i have a thread i there with info and pics. regarding the brakes, you will need 15 inch rims, rst disks, capiliers and pads. they just bolt on. escortcabrioletclub
well its the best and easyest way ...... dont go the mk5/6 loom way as its to much work and restrics the engine the mk4 1600 efi loom on the 1800 zetec 1 works well and 2 gives better power and touqe also better for the mot as you have a higher emisions level then if you was using the mk5/6 loom and engine with the cat ...... let me know what where and when lol when your ready plus if you look in the engine tuning section there is some poasts about the zetecs and whats needed and so on .....
