you will need loom and whole engine. is your cabby the injection odel. if so i wouldn't bother as the 1.8 zetec engine has no go. the 1.6i cabby would probably be pokier.

unless you are going to turbo it or put a set of throttle bodies on, its not worth the hassle

personally I would go with the turbo as standard the engine has a higher bhp than a new fiesta 2.0st - 132-129bhp respectively - & the big plus to turbo is that it is much easier to get big power hikes from standard

pmsl lol @ 1.8 zetec not as pokie as a 16i lol

i take it you have done the conversion and drove one about and put one up the strip and compared times on standed 3i v 3i with zetec ?

My cabby is a 1.8 16v zetec and its a bag of poo. the cars great but the engine is slow and unresponsive. i have had about four xr3i engines. three on mfi and one on efi. i personly think they are pokier. haven't done times etc. they are probably about the same. but its just not worth the hassle swapping it all out for the same sort of power accelaration. if i was going to swap anything naturally aspirated then i would drop a rs2000 16v lump in it. its 152bhp standard. you can get them cheap too these days.

i take it your just after a nice little upgrade and your not too interested in big power and speed??

like i said. if you were going to turbo it then thats great. or you could sell that car in bits and put the money towards a escort rs turbo engine nd loom. you can get them cheap these days.

you will have to transferr the loom from the zetec mate. :WAITINGemote:

i was thinking of tidying (poss breaking depends on what parts would shift quick enough!) car and selling it l8tr as been offered a fairlady but was just thinking of a bit more poke without having to turbo

its probably abit more economical, but i would say its not worth it for the small gain mate.

i like fairladys. is it the twin turbo auto or the manual injection??

well i have just done the 1800 zetec conversion. it runs:

-efi cvh loom and ecu

-de cat

-cvh flywheel and gearbox

-runs with no maf, cam or lamba sensor

-k&n filter

i know it aint the fatsest car in the world, but it is a very good inprovement over my 1600 cvh.

conversion for me cost:

-30 quid for modded top engine mount

-70 quid for 1800 zetec engine (after i solf the strater, alt and power steering stuff

-20 quid for two days engine hoist hire

-few quid here and there to replace damaged bits whist removing engine, like rack gaitor

-30 quid to get the zetec down pipe and xr3i exhaust welded up

-alot of blood and sweat as i have never done an engine swap

i agree here the 130 spec Zetec is a damn good engine and can keep up with the standard RS2000's! Throttle bodies also and they sound awesome.
