i have a mark 5 dash and looking thru the history it had the same fault and it turned out to be the fusebox ,it had dry joints!!!! the fuses will show ok cos the fault is in the box behind them, apparently mk5 are notorius for this, :convertible_mazeguy: see the many other posts dealing with similar problems.

Hi m8, yes, the guys are right...its either ur stalk or ur fusebox....both are know for trouble on the Mk5

Make sure u get a stalk with NO rear washwipe (For obvious reasons!!)

See a fusebox on e-bay.....so have a look there m8 and let us know how u get on!

:icon_salut_gb: BIG up the Mk5 MASSIVE!!! :icon_salut_gb:

how bout this then . the heater fuse must have stopped working cos the numptey who i bought my car from run a lead straight to the battery and connected it into the heater fan switch. until i rewire it to a spare i have to remember to turn the fan off as it dont stop even with the key out, when i saw it i couldnt believe it  doh!!!
