Guest ian12 Posted September 13, 2007 Share Posted September 13, 2007 hi all im new here i just collected a mk5 cabby in fantastic condition from altrinchan(sp?) and everything was working great i went out just and turned on my lights all was well drove less than a mile turned off the lights then back on 5 mins later and i have no side lights front or rear no dash lights at all and no fogs front or rear any ideas? fuses are all ok is there a relay somewhere that control all these things thanks ian Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest matt-the-dj Posted September 14, 2007 Share Posted September 14, 2007 yep i got main lights and brake lights to be honest after the fuses my first thought was the stalk i was put off by the suddenness though there is a ford breakers up the road from me ill get one on the way to work they will have one cos they got loads of fords up there cheers i have a mark 5 dash and looking thru the history it had the same fault and it turned out to be the fusebox ,it had dry joints!!!! the fuses will show ok cos the fault is in the box behind them, apparently mk5 are notorius for this, :convertible_mazeguy: see the many other posts dealing with similar problems. See a fusebox on e-bay.....so have a look there m8 and let us know how u get on! :icon_salut_gb: BIG up the Mk5 MASSIVE!!! :icon_salut_gb: how bout this then . the heater fuse must have stopped working cos the numptey who i bought my car from run a lead straight to the battery and connected it into the heater fan switch. until i rewire it to a spare i have to remember to turn the fan off as it dont stop even with the key out, when i saw it i couldnt believe it doh!!!
