TBH I wouldn't cut away at the inner wing
I'd drop the Passenger strut
Pop out the drive shafts from he box
drop the gearbox mounts with the box on a trolley jack & move the box bac a few inch's

Good Standard cars will be worth more in the future so if you do go 90 Spec - keep all yea old bits to return to original spec @ a later date

I'd try your local motor factors
am sure shocks & springs would still be available new
I purchased a load of old stock earlier this year from a local motor factors & it included new Mk4 front & rear shocks (not Genuine Ford but would do the job)
worth a check
