  1. Passionford have been told they will have them by next Wednesday at latest. They had to kick off at Kelsey as some of their members live abroad and will be leaving Wednesday evening.

Last year, the ones abroad received their tickets at the end of August 😂

  2. All you need is the cap and rotor arm from a non-injection version with the Bosch cap.

Had it on all my old xr3i models. The power drops off around 5000rpm if you leave it in. Doesn't work well if you have a cam that is working until over 6000 rpm having a restrictor like that.

  3. If in doubt, heat the washers up and then refit. You are basically reannealing them.

Annealing is a heat process whereby a metal is heated to a specific temperature /colour and then allowed to cool slowly. This softens the metal which means it can be cut and shaped more easily.

If there is a slight imperfection, this can help overcome it

  4. For reference there are 2 types as above, with and without spoiler.

The one without spoiler is longer and has the code AA at the end. The spoiler version is shorter and had the code BA at the end.

The poundages for these are 300nm for the non-spoiler one and 350nm for the spoiler version.

If you speak to SGS Engineering, they can make you one for the spoiler version which is the standard length but with a different load setting of up to 700nm. I have just done this on my cabby with the Mk5 hatchback spoiler fitted and once opened about 6 inches, thebbootlid gracefully lifts up to the max height and stays there. Cost was a lot cheaper than Ford as well.

  5. Thanks for the advice would probably go for black same as the original. I've had a quote from soft tops in sydenham for £325 fitted for the mohair.

    Would highly recommend them.

We had our one done around 2003 and it was custom-made to fit the car and stitched by sewing machine there and then.

The quality of the materials is top notch and it still looks immaculate over 10 years later
