Guest Tim64cars
Hi All i have just bought a mk6 with an electric roof the bloke says the roof goes half way up and stops the goes half way down is this one of those cogs that needs replacing? or could it be something else
Guest markeyboy
it could be just low fluid m8, i dont think it would move very far at all if the cog was fooked
Admin Paul Posted July 23, 2007 Admin Share Posted July 23, 2007 Not the cog mate, if the gog is broke it will not go up or down at all.

Escort Cabriolet Club
If the fluid is OK check the rams, i know its a ball ache to get to them but the XR3i I got my setup out of, the guy said that the roof did the same as yours, one of the rams had popped off its pivot, a new cir clip will fix it !!! Guest Tim64cars
The level is just below min so i guess it is that. however it has failed it's mot on the below so getting it on the road is the first thing to do He failed!!!!!! on the hand brake front suspension joint rear wheel bearing. £210 including the mot.. advisorys, erm 8 brake pipes are corroded simple job so i have been told X3 bleeding tyre i knew i shud have changed them anyway but i have left them with the car. my st ones velocity joint gaitor deteriorated. anti roll bar link cover split. and an oil leak needs a top up. my friend is going to do the advisory's the garage is doing the failed bit. so Sarah is driving it home on wednesday from norfolk.. at the first hurdle i was ready to break it up and keep the banana my mate convinced me otherwise, so the banana is up for sale but he won't have wheels until wednesday and won't be ready until next weekend. Guest Eggsy
it must be them brake pipe gremlins apparently they don't like the nsf brake lines, but it just depends what position your car is parked in - they're a bit like twockers - the little bastards!!!!!!
