Guest add heywood
Hey all, im sad to say had to get rid of my mk3 rs turb cab (rotter) but found an absolute bargain mk 4 turb last weekend so had lots of spare pennies to spend! Ive bought an in dash dvd player with a motorized screen, the problem ive got is that obviously in a mk4 the gap for the radio is countersunk and has a 2" lip over it so the screen wont open properly. Has anyone put one in? What did you do? Thinking of buying some black perspex and building the hole out, any ideas would be much appreciated. :help:
Guest Keith
What about putting it in where the two air vents are above the original radio hole, im sure you can get a adapter to fit in, but if not it cant be that difficult to make something to fit. Guest BBSparky
Have one in mine but its the Kenwood one so you can set how far out the screen sits which means i can get round this. Have you got some pics of the kit you have and may be able to come up with some ideas for you? Cheers

Any idea where I can get one - Ive tried building out the origional radio hole but due to the angle with it flush instead of countersunk it points upwards and fouls on a metal bracket. Dont fancy hacking the car to pieces. Ive had a look behind the air vents in the middle of the dash and seem to remember seeing people having boost, oil and water temp gauges there. There seems to be enough room for it, would just have to cut the blower pipes and seal them up. Any help from anyone would be much appreciated :help:

Guest add heywood
Finally done it! 4Ended up fitting it into the actual dash board above the glove box. It looked like id massacred my dash with all the pieces and holes everywhere but after puttin it all back together it doesnt look half bad. Gona finish off by puttin oil pressure and temp gauge in where stereo should go. Ill post some pics later this afternoon.
