Preferably dimensions, diagrams, suppliers, anything so that I can get some decent sound from the boot on my Mk V cabbie?Please help!! i used to have 2 12" JBL subs in seperate boxes, swopped them for a 50mm lowering kit as i couldnt get the boxes into the boot lol. now im running a 15" JBL sub mounted direct to the MDF false floor using the spare wheel well as the sub box. its heavily sound proofed. sounds ok. Hi there Homer, Bass box dimensions are not always the same from manufacturer to manufacturer, it all depends on what type of install you want to go with, ported box, bandwidth box, sealed box , isobaric box etc etc . The best subs i was using that required little space and minimum dimension box in my Ford pickup back in south africa was the pioneer 12" with the inverted magnet, had two behind the bench seat and was pushing out 156dB. It also depends on what type of sou7nd deadening material you put inside the box to. Guest qtronix Posted January 31, 2007 Share Posted January 31, 2007 all you need to design a box is all the info for the speaker like the vas qts qtc all that stuff any decent shop should be able to calculate a box for you i should have a program somewhere ill try to find it. but i havent used it for a couple of years cus when i left my old job i copyed the program. theres a lot of shops that sell custom boxes but if you ask them the spec how they made them there cant say cus there full of shit they just slaped them together so dont buy them cus they will sound ok but they wont sound any good at high levels Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
