Hi peeps....

I am soon going to aquire a set of un cut rear pods, because somone put 6x9's in mine. Im wondering what size rear speakers do i get that wont foul the roof mech and just screw into the inside of the pods. Im after a front and rear set so any ideas on what models to get that are capable of running from a 4x50 watt head unit and wont distorte or blow up??

Many thanx Nick

Nick, it's not funny because I have the exact same problem, (see pics i'm posting 2moro).

The ultimate newbie twat of a previous owner had cut 6x9 holes in the rear speaker pods, so that when i first came to take the roof down, it wouldn't go, and it took me a few minutes to realise why, but they were soon removed.

I was offered the rear speaker pods for £15 inc p+p from someone breaking a mk4 cab selling on ebay, but he failed to keep in touch once I asked for a photo of them....

So what I plan to do now, is remove the old ones and try to cover the hole with mesh and see if I can remold it out of fibreglass filler, and then maybe put some smaller speakers in!!!

Not to sure about sizes, as I've not quite got to my ice install yet, but would be interested if any1 knows or has the same problem.

Great point Nick.......

I have opened up the holes slightly to get in a set of Pioneer 13cm.

In case the link dont work as none of mine seem to the model is TS-A131C. Picked components so I could still get the high frequency firing forward. If you want a photo of how they look let me know.

you still cannot get any bass out of these back pods though, theres nothing behing them to keep the air moving forward.

ive got pioneer 10cm ones in the rear pods of my silver cab, and they are fine - as long as ur not looking for major sounds!lol!

some twat has butchered the rear pods in my blue cab to get 6x9s in, but thankfully the roof still works - just!

im not sure what would be best for u mate - perhaps u could go and have a chat with your local ICE place - they will probably be able to help u get the right speakers?

ive got 6x9 in mine but they are shallow speakers and i have proper spacer rings so i have plenty of clearancebetween the hood and the speakers

Mine also has them in, only downside to having 6x9's is you cant drop the back seat down, but personally i've never had the need to do this as I cant get anything in the boot anyway.
