Guest Glenn65
Hi again, sorry for asking loads of questions. I've not long got my '84 Cabbie and feel I'll be asking what will seem obvious questions. It's a 1.6 carbureted CVH. I have a problem with my Aux Warning System lights, some seem to flash for 30 sec's before going off. Mainly brakes / oil level and coolant level. Does anyone know what the resistances are for the sensors so I can test them, before I go buying bits I don't need. Yes I could remove the bulbs, but I feel the car has it, so it should work. I will be checking the continuity of the wires to the control unit first chance I can but feel to start at the sensor end is easier. Cheers in advance Glenn
lenny f
hi Glenn the lights are supposed to flash for a short period of time time and then go off I know they did on the GL models its a long time since I had a mk3 but I am sure the lads on here will put you in the picture cheers len
Guest Glenn65
Cheers Len, the fuel and skoosher water level light come on for a few seconds then go off, but these 3 flash. I remember this from my XR4i from years ago and when it flashed it was a fault. I never thought I'd need to know much about it back then as I didn't think I'd get another car with the system lol. I'll play about with it when I get a chance and I'll post my findings....
RScab
Glenn I think there's a control module behind the dash on the Mk3 worth checking the connections
Guest Glenn65
Cheers RS, I'll be checking the wiring out as soon as I've recovered from a busted leg. I've also got the wiring colours from another ford website to help me...
chaz
When I turn the ignition on all the orange auxiliary lights flash for a few seconds then go off this is normal, the flashing is checking the systems if they stay on there is a fault. Guest Glenn65
If a sender is left disconnected, does the associated light flash for longer? Due to car being at my parents while I clear my own garage along with me having a busted leg I am limited to check, so any info would help pre-arm me for when I do fault find it. I hope to have a look at it next weekend though. Cheers for all the inputs, I just want to make sure it's doing what it should due to some lights flashing longer than others. Having just got the car there are a few wee niggles I'll be working on so I will be pestering you guys on a regular basis lol
