Guest ben smith
It had been about a month since firing my mk4 up and was doing a quick lights and lecky check and noticed that my indicators inc hazards have decided to stop working I have checked the plugs and that and the fuses and bulbs and connection to the fuse box but cannot find a fault anyone have a clue before I lose my head and just rewire the entire system
Guest ANDYA
Flasher relay would be suspect. May just need reseated or cleaned if the car has sat for a while. Put the hazards on and jiggle the relay to try and get it working.

Guest ben smith
Also I'm guessing the relay for that is the one in the engine bay
Guest ANDYA
From memory it's in the steering column within the car. Remove the upper and lower shrouds, 3 starheads, and you'll see the relay near the actual indicator switch. The relay is there so you can hear it clicking when the indicators are working. gingergman
its on the back of the stalk, could also be a faulty stalk, fairly common
Guest ben smith
I swapped the stalk out with two others I got same issues I know there is a chance that all the stalks could be faulty but slim chance I think it's the relay but thought I beat ask first
