Guest Pieter-Jan Buyl
Hi all, I'm riding an Escort Cabrio from 1996, totally loving it. What I didn't like was the sound of the standard speakers. So I put in some aftermarket ones, and another radio. As the speakercavity in the sidedoor is just about 11-12 centimetres, I could only fit in some 10 centimetres (the next size is 13 cm, which is too big) speakers (yes I had to drill a couple extra holes in the door, but they fit perfectly fine). As it is the smallest size available, the sound isn't always what it should be when it comes to displaying bass. So my idea was to put in a small, 150 watt, subwoofer. But cables need to be made by a friend, as they are not the standard subwoofer ones.So my question is: does anyone know where the cavity under the hood is to run the powerwire from my battery to my trunk? I mean the cavity that allows the cables to come in from the engine compartment. I already took a quick look, but it seems that the battery needs to come out. Before I put all my work into it, I would like to hear an opinion of you guys, to see if there's a better way. Thanks people!
Vincygav
A rubber grommet with the other ECU wire, or a hole near the ford amp unit.
