Guest gassman Posted March 15, 2014 Share Posted March 15, 2014 hey guys ...got a big problem with my brake light switch...i have a 1989 escort xr3i cab 1597cc mechanical inj. when i got the car the prev. owners sez that hes always had a problem with the switch as the original switch was replaced with a switch off another car..now this replacement switch has jammed...i want to try and get an origonal fitting switch...i have been seaching on evilbay UK and i thought i had found the correct one..but the seller sez the engine code i sent him doesnt match..he in fact sez it isnt an engine code...the engine code i got on my registration papers is KU25075 the vin/chassis no is WFOLXXGKALKU25075.....i have'nt got the original switch and i dont want to replace it with another crap one that doesnt work propperly ...is anyone out there that can unravel this mess ????dont forget im in aust thanks in advane ...dave... Guest gassman Posted March 17, 2014 Share Posted March 17, 2014 yes... the engine no is stamped into the block....took a pic.... you can sorta see the numbers ku25075 in there[in the pic].. I painted it and wiped it so i could see it properly or am i lookin in the wrong spot ....any way I did find one local thanks to some help....so its fixed... but i would still like to know if i got the engine number right thanks for posting back....dave...
