Guest dajafu2002
I just about to buy a good solid Escort 1987 cabriolet as a project. The plan is to fit a RST engine and gear. The car is not the EFI or MFI but the older version with what looks like a carb. My questions are as follows. Will the wiring be a nightmare? or will it simply be changingng the looms over, RST ECU and sensors etc? Will the standard gearbox and drive shafts etc cope with the extra power? I pan on upgrading the brakes and suspension. What other problems am I likley to encounter with this conversion? I am a keen mechaninc so I will be doing most / all of the work myself. I have not yet committed to buy the car yet!
badger
right the best way is to change the whole loom /ecu as one also the drive train for both are the same apart from rs turbo's have a lsd but if you buy a rst donor car you car just transfer what you like i'd upgrade brakes and engine/gearbox mounts as well. Guest dajafu2002
Ok that's great so change the whole loom? I have never changed one over before. Thanks
