welshlad
so it doesnt have the green relays? if it doesnt then thats why! and the silver fuse is a thermal switch and thats part of the pump wiring etc Are you trying the switch with the ignition fully on? try it with the key only turned once etc

Guest Royv412
There are relays in the front drivers floor well, if you search in the tutorial section under Mk5 roof switch bypassing the ignition, I know it's not what you were looking for but it shows a picture of the relays and will give you an idea of what you're looking for Roy
Guest baz9707
Flaming heck I have the same problem with just getting a click changed switch and checked connection in the boot. Poss you get it sorted. Or are there any other suggestions. Cheers baz
Guest POL2Y
Besides the relays there is also a quite expensive box of kit preventing you trying to raise or lower the roof when the vehicle is in motion (ie when the engine is running) and if this fails, as it did on mine it is better just to get a competant vehicle electrician to bypass it. When this was done to mine he made it so that it could be raised when the engine was running, which is much better if you use your car with the roof down in the winter, as I do. Before it used to flatten the battery if you were not careful. Now of course I do have to make sure that I am stationary before I try raising or lowering it! Skittles80
I converted mine from a manual roof to electric and wired mine in the same way it has so many advantages the best way to go
Guest Terry Pollard
Hi It's been interesting reading all your thoughts on this matter, I am in the same postion with mine, just when I thought mine was the only one not working as it should. Does any one know if the Mk5 ever had spot lights fitted? Regards Terry

Guest martinkettering
Swap the green relays around, could be a faulty relay.
