Guest bigup316 Posted November 29, 2012 Share Posted November 29, 2012 just got a mk4 roof was a mess big holes all over every time you moved it just cracked.Right here we go got given a replacement roof on frame thought great took old roof off not to bad todo.Then mate brought round the roof it was not great nick but better than what i had but was man and mine was elec.Not to bad made it work the screwed it all in now the real pain bit when i come to shut roof it is about 6inch away from window no chance of getting latches in and i can not pull it down.Roof came of a mk3 dreg mine is a mk4 is this why.The roof looks quite old has it lost its give as its been stored closed anything i can do?? or has anyone got a mk4 roof on frame for sale thanks for reading Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
gingergman Posted November 29, 2012 Share Posted November 29, 2012 mk3 will fit a mk4, if its been folded up and stored for a long time it could well have shrunk a bit, you could leave it up and it may relax a little, or if the car is garaged put a heater in there, if it was summer id say leave it out in the sun to soften and loosen it! also loosen the 3 bolts each side that hold the fram on and push/yank the frame forward, it may move it a little closer. where abouts are you? Guest bigup316 Posted November 29, 2012 Share Posted November 29, 2012 hello in abingdon just connected the rams to the frame took out the little ball looking things and it bolted straight in.Just had to remove the two latches that lock it down and it works fine will go and put it up and leave it it is in the garage so can sit like it for a while.
