Guest nellyboy
hi had a problem with my 1.8 16v zetec starting fine when cold but struggling to start when warm or hot..thought id post how i fixed it to give some guidance if anyone has the same issue.. firstly i checked with a local parts factor to see if my coolant temperature sensor controlled the guage only or was part of the ECU.. from my registration they informed me it was the one that was connected to the ECU.. £15 pound and 15 minutes later the job was done...(screwed in passenger side of block) but if struggling im sure the motor factors will point out its location for free on purchase.. plus this giving a view to compatability.. my lovely cab now starts everytime no matter the engine temperature.. this may not be the case for your vehicle but its a starting point and fixed mine.. Guest El87cabi
A good job well done dude, those zetec's have a fair few hard to track down faults and this is 1 of them, i'm sure your post will prove most useful All the best, el
Vincygav
Thanks, it reminds me of something that has plagued mine at a hot start over the years. Completely forgot to check this, plus I have the said part spare, would have to fit it.
