Guest Lachelad Posted July 9, 2012 Share Posted July 9, 2012 Really excited, I have an H reg EFI Escort soft top 1.6. The car is in a right state and I plan to bring her back to its former glory. I bought it in a scrap yard and it had not been running for 2 years, mold is everywhere, he planned to do it up as a project but never got round to it. I have got the engine going, even though it is a little rough on idel and sanded her down The problem I face, which I am slighly panicking about is the electrics. I really am a beginner, the roof does not work what so ever and I have not got a clue where to start. Does anyone have a step by step guide as to how I can check each problem in order to get the roof working again? Guest Andrew Bennion Posted July 10, 2012 Share Posted July 10, 2012 The roof is simple. Start at the switch with a multimeter and ensure it is getting power and then just work backwards. You can take the motor off and hard wire it to a battery (for only a few seconds) and see if thats the cause. The only thing against you is time really but a multimeter is essential.
