Guest briano
Hi everyone I bought tihs the other day as a change, my last 6 or 7 cars have been toyota celicas and i wanted a nice comfy sofa to get to work instead of my track ready celica I have had several escorts int he past but my favourite was a mk5a xr3i that i had a mk5b rear end welded onto (cause it looks better) sadly this went the same was as most fords i have owned and it got so bad so quickly it got minced. this one though cost me pennys and is a bit scruffy so worth throwing some money at. It drove home fine and amazingly the handbrake even works, but the typical problems are the horn is fitted to the under dash as a kind of knee operated horn (first time i have seen this one ) the divers window doesn't work but that will just be a switch, other things not working are rev gauge and temp gauge its been painted black in the last few years and not very well with runs and paint flaking so i will be buyign some rattle cans and painting it satin black its got a brand new roof fitted and no leaks took it straight for an MOT and surprise surprise the rear chassis legs needed welding and apart from that and some attention to the fuel filler neck being loose and the seats needing secured a bit better. anyways here it is, its been years since i owned an escort but what do i need to change to a mk5a bonnet????? oh and typical weather to be driving a convertable home in
