Spoiler Wont Fit ! D'oh !

right then i finally got my rs1600i spoiler !!! but lining it up on the boot lid i think its a bit too long ???

 

im sure ive seen these on the mk3 cabs before but i cant seem to line it up correctly,

 

can anyone shed some light on this please

i dnt rekon they will fit directly without modding, i had a s1 spoiler and found this out several yrs ago, they kinda fit but dont look right as boots are a dif shape :sad:

Yeah i figured lol have spent the eve fitting it but it seems to overhang a little on the sides and the bits right on the end dont sit level and there is no way of securing them as they sit on the body not the boot. it only had two mounting bits in the centre - the end ones were missing but if they were on it they would have been on the body of the car not the boot lid so what we did was bolted it at the centre the used a good thick bonding glue and shes all taped up in the correct place. Hopefully it will look ok but if not then im not sure what to do lol under no circumstances am i going to mess the spoiler up and cut it as its so rare lol might have to look into making the rear of the car wider maybe with some fancy fiberglass work so it all looks flush and maybe use a magnet strip to hold the sides to the body. Hmmmm .
