Guest Summa21
hello sorry if you have heard this question before but am very new to this and am hoping as I am female and don't have a clue about electrics someone my take pity on me i have a 95 Mk5 (i think) cab in lilac When i got her I was never informed as to whether the roof worked or not I just presumed it was manual, however I found a button next to the hand break and for months i have not known what it does. recently upon looking at other cabs i notice they all have electric roofs. so I began to wonder if this button was indeed to do with the roof, i looked at switches on eBay and it is the same as ones being sold. Round button. however the button does not do anything when i push it. i have no idea what fuse it may be or what I am looking for. if someone would be so kind to give me an idiots guide as to what and where to check i was greatly appreciate it. many thanks for your help in advance kind regards Jo
Guest kevsbluecab
Hi, if you have got an electric roof best way to check is look in the boot on the left hand side pull away the carpet and there should be a big hydraulic pump there, if not your roof will be manual, the switch you have got could be to switch off the rear electric windows ( safety feature for kids ) or the roof switch. My first mk5 had a round switch which was the window cut off but my Mk 6 has got the roof button there, the roof button is a rocker switch just like a window switch, up and down motion. Hope that helps sorry to babble on lol Kev
