Guest Rustler
Hi.... I'm still searching for a set of alloy wheels and tyres.....".AT THE RIGHT PRICE"......... Have located some TEAM DYNAMIC 1.2's........16" x 7J ....with 195/45/R16 tyres...our existing originals are 14" x 6J & 185/60/R14s assuming that the ET on the Team Dynamics is the same as the originals ie ET35....... what are the ..Fore & Against .. arguments on going up to 7J from 6J ?..........................Any ideas please........Thanks............Rustler........."The Oldest Cabbier"... Guest Alanman
From memory, a 7j will just poke a little more than the 6j if they both the same ET. But it'll but a few mm, so not enought to worry about. And obviously a wider tire will give a better footprint and better grip and handling. So all pro's One bit of advice I can give you. I'd check the price of the 16" tires if you've not already done so. You'll find that going up to 17s will give you a lot more choice on tyres. 16s are not so common and can end up costing quite a bit more.
Guest Rustler
Thanks Alanman for your info..... Yes, I had noted that 16" tyres were a lot dearer than 15" & 17" tyres.......But on these wheels the tyres were brand new.......HOWEVER..... When I asked the bloke to check the ET# .....he came back with the answer. Sorry M8, but the ET's 48 ....so I,ve blown them out...."BACK TO EBAY" ..............Rustler ............."The Oldest Cabbier"...........
