Well theres a fair list of items I been trying to get through and this year it got longer.

Passed the MOT with two advisory's. The first being slight play in steering rack joint end.

The second was slight brake bind on the front nearside caliper. This got worse on the way home ( Alot worse)

With the first cailper stripped down 3 pistons had seized. All those pistons scored on removal which pissed me off. Mucho lots of parts ordered from big redd later. Fitted the first caliper back on today with new discs and ferodo DS2500 pads

I still have the other caliper to do. Having rebuild calipers before i can highly advise that you leave cossie 4 pot calipers to someone else. Bank on a good 8 hours a caliper if your painting them too. Was not impressed with the big redd kit either. I think there cutting the quality of the stuff there sending out. Had to shorten the rings that hold the seals in place as few were too big. Also had to scotch bright some of the new pistons to remove rust.

Will add more pics as the remaining caliper is completed.

Still have the oil and filter change to do. Renew the brake fluid throughout system. Change both the steering rods and ball joint ends as i've got new. Then i can continue with the old list of stuff to do.

Bit of an update.

Have painted and cleaned up the remaining caliper. Then met some more problems with the pistons that big redd sent out. 3 of the remaining ones had pits in them. two had them in the top 2-3 mm so not a problem but the other had them all over and would have leaked if installed.

So got on the phone to them today. Kinda didn't want to know when i first spoke to them. Finally got them to sent out a new piston ( I had to pay for this and postage). They said i have to send the old piston back recorded signed for at my own cost. Then they might give me a refund of the cost of the piston.

I'm really pissed off with the service and additional cost which they should be paying for. There also going to leisurly send out the new piston which i might receive saturday or next week.

Something to bear in mind if you do come across problem with this company

That's a bit concerning, I have used them many years ago for the 'tina's front brakes and was hoping to use them for the daily drivers (Rover 75, pretty impressed with it too) master cylinder. They did take a while to answer my email on that one.

I've probably spent around £500 with them over past 5 years. Never had a problem until this last time. Think there ok unless you have problem in which case they just dont care and act like its your fault

Well got the other side of the car finished yesterday. Took a few more pics this time.

Dust boot ring shortning. Some were too big in the kit as said before. When installed they simply fell off

Bit of grinding later and you can now see a small gap at the ends around 0.5mm. They now hold tight and have some room to compress the dust boot further.

Caliper fully assembled with new Ferodo ds2500 pads

During removal I couldn't undo the nut holding the hard pipe to the caliper so i cut the pipe which allowed a ring spaner access. So had to make a new one. Better done than last one i think.

Yet again on this side the previous owner had painted the face of the hub with enamel. If you don't know why this is wrong let someone else do your brakes. This took a good 30mins to remove to a bare surface.

I always test disc run out as it will show up any problems early on before you warp or wreck your new pads. left was 0.03mm out and right was 0.06mm out so within the tolerance of 0.1mm that the workshop manual states.

The disc and caliper fully fitted and being bleed. Finally bleed the whole car and then it pissed it down before I could take the final photo with wheels on.
