Guest ZoeS
Hi guys, My MOT is in a few months, so I have come to the conclusion that I must either 1. Invest in the cabby 2. Sell it on Obviously I will have to see what the outcome of the MOT is... But if I am investing, can anyone suggest TYRES that aren't too expensive, are good for mileage, but have a bit of grip incase i need to move at fast speeds >.> ZeeZee x
Guest kevsbluecab
Aw don't sell it on!! You haven't even had a summer out of it yet lol trust me if the summer is a good one you will be loving the cab!! As for tyres I just got two fitted for 80 quid they are not the best but not the worst either and I think I have the same cab as yours ish, so you could pick some up that cheap or even little cheaper depending we're you go. Also these cabs should have no prob with mot as they are stronger than normal escorts meaning the underneath is usually rock solid.

Guest El87cabi
I agree with kev, don't sell it, summer's on the way As for tyre's i've found certain falken tyre's aren't bad for the money, was running 15" at the time. What is your tyre size? Btw I now use Yokahama Prada Spec2 on 16" 1 word, superglue
Guest ZoeS
I will have a look at rims and tyres, but might have to buy after my holidays, holiday shopping is expensive :L
Guest Lee81
Having tried dozens of tyres over the years i have found that Kuhmo ecsta are cheap tires that are really good. Alot of tyre fitters stock these. My tire of choice for the road is Toyo Proxes t1-s or t1-r. They are just is a different league to Yokahama prada. Bit more grip in the dry and alot more in the wet. That also oulast the prada by 40% i would guess. Theres a big factory in MK that sell direct . Based on 195/45 R16 Toyo Proxes T1 R £168.00 for four. Just have to get them fitted then. They stock alot of brands and have circa 1 million tyres in stock lol

Guest Lee81
MK is milton keynes and the warehouse is located in bletchley area (think you spell it like that) They don't do offers but supply mainly to the trade. But there prices are really good was a year and half ago when i got the toyos so i would assume have gone up a bit now They were selling tyres for a short while through ebay to the public but had enough of people turning up asking to pay by card or cheque. Terms are cash or account only
Guest El87cabi
I'll say, on 17" proxes dad was paying 200ish a pair, n 195/45/r16's are usually dearer, will go looking on ebay
Guest ZoeS
Yeah so I just looked at buying some tyres through some sister company of a site I was lookign at for an MOT/Service and jesus I hate cars. They're so expensive. I think I might do a "rant" post on here.... Anyways, so on this site, they wanted me to list like widths and different measurements and I just didn't have a clue, can someone please make it simple as to whatt his "195/45/r16's" all means. I think I might make a girl friendly car site *hopes no female mechanic goes feminist on ass* Leading on from this I am about to go and make a post about MOT's. Guest El87cabi
Right, grab a torch, go to your car and look on the side of the tyre. there will be a series of no's on the side, e.g. 205/45/16. 205 = tyre width, 45 = tyre sidewall height 16 = wheel size put the info off your tyres into the tyre searcher and there u go.
