MarineIguana
So got my Mk4 Turbo loom in and Mk4 dash working but the fuel gauge is not working properly i thought it may have been wired the wrong way round so swapped the wires round but made the gauge go all the way up instead. So is it the wrong sender unit maybe or something else?
gingergman
what is the gauge doing mate? there a right sod on a mk4, did you change the loom to the tank and is it still a mk3 tank? mk3 are diffrent to the mk 4, have diffrent sender units, mk3 has a side mounting sender. MarineIguana
Gauge goes all the way down so swapped the wires and it went all the way up. :/ I think I have a mk4 sender big sized one too.
MarineIguana
This is my sender unit and goes into the top of the tank. So if its not working then it must be an earth or dodgy looming.
MarineIguana
Another thing I was wondering is I know there were 2 different sized senders for the Mk4, Where they matched to different looms and clocks? As there are 2 different clocks mine is the fuel gauge on the left was wondering if they needed a certain sender to go with the gauge.
MarineIguana
Found my problem my gauge needs a sender that has 2 wires not the 3 wire one rare as rocking horse poo.
