gingergman
should get 17's on easy. car lowered?
Guest dsharples
nahh its all standard only picked it up other day "back into cabbys" was a bargain couldnt let it go just wanna do some subtle upgrades to make it look better but easy enough to return to standard without any expense and little time as gonna keep original alloys in shed for spares might throw some track rubber on em for them fun days out
gingergman
if you get the correct offset you wont need spacers, id go for 16's. 17 inch make for a harsh ride, and 15's are too small imo
Guest shaun
16" i would go for 15" do look a little small as i got 15" on mine as gingergman said 17" do make a harder ride but look better and no mods needed to fit also the bottom arm's wear so 17"s might make it worse good luck with your wheel choice

Guest Paul William Jenkins
Nice one cheers, they have 215/45/17 on at mo will they rub?
gingergman
proberly, even with 205 they will prob rub a tiny bit on full lock. 215 is a bit much if you ask me, best of just trying em, will depend on the offset of the wheel and the state of the suspension, old shocks etc
Guest dsharples
so whats the best offset so i dont need spacers if i was to put either 16s or 17s on my mk6 as i think im gonna buy new seems be loads of deals for alloys with rubber going round at minute cheers guys
gingergman
ET38 is best imo with a 7J rim, you will only need spacers if the wheels have a high offset, the lower the offset the further the wheel will stick out.

Guest Alanman
Sorry what do you mean by "rub"? rub what and wear? x Tyre on arch.
Guest ZoeS
SUrely the tyre would go before the arch? && what mk is urs? love the side body panels!
Guest Alanman
If it rubs enough you can damage the paint on the arch as much as the tyre. Tyres are easy to replace, arches not so much. Ours is a Mk3 and thanks.
