Guest John Posted August 26, 2011 Share Posted August 26, 2011 It is with great sadness to inform club members that may have known Peter Ridgewell "sporting escort owners club" chairman passed away on 21-8-2011 after a long fight against Alzheimer's. He was dedicated to the mk1 & mk2 escort scene & ran a excellent club with his wife geraldine for many years & was a pleasure to be on the commitee with them & become friends. A very very sad day for the ford club scene as a hole. Geraldines quote"Peter finally gave up the fight yesterday and died, peacefully, in hospital during the afternoon. He never really recovered after breaking his hip a month ago. Until the fall he often spoke of the 'club' and the shows and enjoyed looking at the mags, even commenting that he wished I'd told him I was selling the Camper - he'd spotted the advert!!! He will be sadly missed Just to inform you, if anyone wishes to attend Peter's funeral, it is to be held at Risby Crematorium in Bury St. Edmunds on Friday 9th September at 2.15. Guest avul Posted August 26, 2011 Share Posted August 26, 2011 oh john that def is him then, i did do sum wrk on the other 2 aswell. wat a shame dont ya just hate time, such a crule thing!!!! cant beleive i wrked on his cars over 10 yrs ago, did u get 2 c any of his cars??? the black 1 had a mk2 master cylinder & servo fitted & thats wat i had the task of sortin cos who ever fitted it lef it & the brake's were permantly on, god they were so hot the 1st time he brought it in, bless him, gd man, had 2 have his car's just ryt. that camper was a nice motor.....
