Guest Mejojo
Has anyone had a problem with the plastic reservoir cracking? Can it be fixed. I have gone through 2 now. I got a used 1995 pump kit just for the reservoir to replace the original. It had minor cracks but has now split and seeping fluid. Does anyone know where to get a replacement part ( just that bit, not the whole pump) or how to seal the crack? All information would be muchos appreciated. Tis very annoying as my carpets are buggered from the last leak. So also any suggestions of cleaning roof fluid out of the carpets would be useful too. Tried allsorts of stuff n they still feel greasy. Please help Cheers all Jojo
allblue
Ford don't sell the part, but I understand VW do. The fluid housing cracking and the internal plastic cog breaking are two common faults with the pumps. VW and Escorts share the same pump. Guest Mejojo
Cogs are alright. Can get them on eBay I think. Thanx again.
allblue
The cog is only £17 from vw dealers, less than half the price of ebay ones! Whilst you are there too, get some of their fluid for the pump. It's only £7 for 1/2 a litre. Good luck!
