Plastic Clips No Longer Available.. Please Help?

Hi All,

If you've read my previous posts you'll be aware I've been upgrading my brakes.

After renewing everything and still not being able to get a pedal I was advised to renew the master cylinder seals.

I was taking this off last night and disaster struck!

There are four hoses connected to the master cylinder. Two are copper and unbolt and two are plastic which appear to "push fit"

I was advised that the two plastic hoses "pull" out. Unfortunately these two hoses are held in place by two plastic cylindrical clips which go over the top of the hoses themselselves and lock the hoses in place.

These two clips fell to peices last night while I was removing them.

I phoned Ford and was told that they used to be supplied as part of the master cylinder repair kit but are no longer available.

I ordered a new master cylinder repair kit from another company and was told that only the seals are supplied in the kit and they had no idea what these plastic clips were and where I could get them. I have now phoned a couple of other places this morning and again nobody seems to know what I am talking about.

I desperately need to get two of these plastic clips. Can anybody help me please.

Thanks,

Rob.

Hi mate,

Unfortunately not. The hoses disappear up inside the reservoir and clip in internally.

I'll post in items wanted and see if someone can help me out with a new reservoir.

Breakers yard is easy option as other models in the ford range would probably fit. I'm breaking a cab in a few days time if your willing to wait. Its all complete at the moment. Thats assuming they also done break lol or could just give you the whole unit which works fine lol

Hi,

Can you let me know a price for the brake reservoir plase. It doesn't matter if you cut the two abs return plastic pipes that go into it. It will then be my responsibility to get the pipes and clips out intact as they are integral to the reservoir. :-)

Thanks again mate.
