HI

I have a 91 j plate escort cabby which had a new mohair roof last year, basically the when it rains me and the missus get soaked lol, if you look closely you can clearly see a gap at top of window where it is not close enough to the rubber seal bit when fully up. it is driving me mad as the missus makes me go in her matiz when it rains which i hate with a passion lol.

i have been told there some screws i can adjust to make window raise higher , any ideas greatfully recieved

Tom

think there the same, mk4 there is a screw that ajusts how high the window sits, tis behind the doorcard, take the card off, you should work out what one it it, you can move it up and down about an inch, altho this is a fix for a mk4 it should be the same for your mk5, sure someone will comfirm

On mine, and a lot of others, even when the windows are at the perfect height, you still had to drop them an inch when you got in the car and put them back up to make sure they sit under the seal ok! And shut the door by the window rather than the door handle when you're locking up to make sure it's under the seal again! Not ideal, but it's the only way most of the time...

do you mean the corner triangle black plastic thing?

Yeh thats right Gingerman mine seems that they are cracked therefore by raiseing the leccy windows they stop a little higher than they should, then that leaves a gap on the door seal letting in the wet stuff

you can get used ones of those corner pieces on ebay easy enough, they are easy damaged, im not so sure tho that that is your problem, yes that will make your window go slightly higher up but not much i would of thought, couple of mm mabye. as most people say, close the door by pushing the glass or when the door is closed push the top corner of the glass and it should seal as the glass goes under the rubbers, commen problem that thankfully i dont have, but did on mu first cab!

is yours a mk4? id try ajusting the window regulator aswell.
