Guest Delboybully
I noticed today that there is about an inch of water in both the rear light clusters. I have been told to remove the lights, dry them off with a hair dryer and re-fit them but with some silicone sealer around the seal. Does this sound ok. Do the light cluster have a drain hole that could be blocked?

Guest tony.rose
Once dry I would clean the seal and apply vasiline or replace with new one!!
Guest Delboybully
I had the light clusters out and there was some dirt on a few parts of the seals, so i cleaned the seal and bodywork where the seal meets it. I dried the lights out with a hair dryer and put some silicone sealer on the seal and refittted the lights. Hopefully this will work, i cant see it not working, silicone sealer is great stuff. Most silicone sealer sold here in England has anti-fungicide in it. The most common sealer without fungicide is aquarium sealant. I have a 1993 Mk5, so i guess it a common problem on escorts in general
