Guest s6boy1979
I bought a set of g-max shocks and springs, second hand. They where on a 3 door tin top and are meant to be a 40mm drop. I fitted them last night and the front is on the deck while the rear has dropped but no where near as much. The ride us firm and no bounce do the shocks are fine. I spoke to the guy I got them off and his car sat nice and level. I am a little sump as to why the front as dropped so much more than the rear. gingergman
every time ive brought springs for a mk4 cab there diffrent to tintops, the rears are diffrent i think, dunno why as ive never had a tin top. when you see them advertised they say excludes cabriolet aswell. hope that kinda helps
Guest s6boy1979
Turns out only the pass rear has not dropped the rest are all about the same. I must have not fitted it properly but was 10.30 last night lol
Guest Lee81
The listings are different for the cab as said. I asked about this when i bought mine. Was told by spax that the cab carry's a fair bit more weight especially at the rear than the tin top. Springs were different rate to match the extra weight and shocks were not as stiff a setting. I've got a brand new spax kryton gas adjustable kit thats for sale. Rears have not been fitted and fronts only been on 1 month - 200 miles before I blew the head gasket. Breaking the whole car now as I have the cossy cab.

Guest s6boy1979
Yeah after talking to a few people and looking at the car again it is only the pass side rear that hasn't dropped so think I have put the spring on upside oops, but it was cold and dark at 10.30 last night lol. Also need to look at drivers front as I get the odd bang so need look at. The extra weight of the car has made it lower though so may need to get the arches rolled as I get the odd bit of scrubage
