Guest dave29 Posted December 20, 2010 Share Posted December 20, 2010 hi all. i duno if im just looking for faults on my cabby but im guessing the gearbox aint suppose to make a whirring noise? its not megga loud but it seams to do it when your gearing down to approach a roundabout or junction......ideas? i aint checked the gearbox oil as yet...... just hope its not fooked. Guest Andy H Posted December 20, 2010 Share Posted December 20, 2010 hi Dave Could possibly be the thrust bearing does the noise stop when you dip the clutch pedal? if so then in all posibility it will be the bearing. most reputable mechanics will change these when you have the clutch replaced when was it last done? if you had changed check how long ago it was done you may still have warranty if not check the history you have when it was last done before you write off the gearbox, good luck.
