Guest suffolk04
Have a few questions, thought it would be easier to put in one place then start loads of topics, Any way here goes. 1, water gathering in the wiper blade well's and turning orange, have to t'cut these every so often, was told to use something about vaseline stopping it, but forgot what to do. 2, the rear arch's been attacked by rust, just wondering what other people had been quoted to get them cut out and repaired, 3, Suspension is old and tired, don't want to lower it, (low enough as they are IMO) just want standard/decent suspension 4, S2 body kit fitting when the arch's done, got some tigerseal & wood screws( may work?) what can be used to hide the screw heads from showing through the bodykit? Thats it for now, i'll post picture if it will be more helpful.
gingergman
the wiper thinggys have you tried putting polish in them, so the water doesnt settle, suspension if your only after standard id buy it new, cheap enough and much better than buying dodghy second hand units, the bodykit arches you can rivvet on on the lip so you wont see them and as for the skirts id use self tapper(spelt wrong lol) screws, wood screws will be crap, and as for extra bond and fit use a silicone if you like, hope that helps abit! Guest essycabbb5
re bodykit , i bought some flange head self tappers from screwfit they are about £3 for a packet of 50 and look the same as standard ford screws, tops can be coloured after fitting to match the car colour, tiger seal or any simalar stickiflex is good but you can get a very good 2 pack bunding used to bond on roof skins from a good car body or paint factors cost about £20. Guest suffolk04
thanks for the link, hopfully i can find a bodyshop who will take/want to do it. any ideas of a ruff cost for fitting them?
gingergman
all bodyshops will vary on price, your best off going round a few and get quotes, but dont necessary go to the cheapest one as its likely to be cheap for a reason
Guest Cabbytech
I remember the wiper wells on my mk4 cab also suffered from the orange water syndrome, it turned out to be the nuts and washers that hold the wiper arms on were very rusty, so i replaced them and it cured my problem. Guest suffolk04
thanks i'll try the wiper arm trick out. Been to a bodyshop today, said he wouldn't do it because the non-gen rear wings dont fit right and would look a mess if fitted, Anyone had any fitted? either he's right and they do look rubbish, or he just doesn't want the work

Guest suffolk04
thanks for all the input, booked friday off work so will be going to a few. will update how i get on. would like to know as well, when the body kit is fitted, should i leave the red pin stripe on? cars white with the red stripes on it, would like to know peoples opinions. I've seen one somewhere where the cars all white, and looks nice, but pin stripe breaks up the colour and is also nice

Guest suffolk04
car booked at my 2nd choice of garage. 1st bloke said doesn't want to get involved because of the age/millege of the car, said the inner arche's would be rotten. He also said he aint done any for years, and doesn't know anyone who does them any more. So about 30 seconds away from him was another garage, he had a look around, and told me what they would be doing and what tools would be using, and said £500 cash in hand. Sorted
