Guest cuddles Posted April 25, 2010 Share Posted April 25, 2010 Hi i have 1800 xr3i k reg its been running rough the last few days it feels like its misfiring,so i changed the leads which didnt solve anything i then noticed that when i turn the engine over in the dark it sparks from the coil pack and along one of the leads,could this be the coil pack needs replaceing?if so whats the best replacement and are they interchangeable with other models.it also seems to get worse as the car heats up thanks cuddles Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

ianxr3i Posted April 25, 2010 Share Posted April 25, 2010 I have recently changed a coil pack on a 'M' plate 1600 zetec escort with an coil pack from my 'H' plate EFi MK4 cabby. Guest cuddles Posted April 26, 2010 Share Posted April 26, 2010 i got a coil pack from a scrap yard i took it off a escort mk6, i took the old coil pack of my car and yes it was cracked. i put the new one on my car and i thought it was cured but sadly no, it has inproved a great deal but still not right, im wondering if the spark plugs have got damaged and should be replaced. can anyone help me please.
