Guest jimbo79
Hi All, Seem to have a problem with electric roof....it was ok this morning, went to put the roof back up and it would not move. I have manually put the roof back on but there does seem to be an intermittent fault. When I press the roof switch there is a clicking noise from the relays at the back Any thoughts? Cheers J
allblue
Firstly check that the fluid level in the pump is sufficient. Then get someone to listen to the pump whilst you press the roof switch (with ignition in position 2). If you can hear the motor running, the fault is likely to be a broken plastic cog in the pump. Easy to fix and a repair kit is available from VW dealers (not Ford) for £17. If no noise from the motor, the problem will be electrical, check the relays and fuses by the pump. Guest jimbo79
Hi I am getting no noise from the pump itself - only a clicking noise from the 3 relays in the boot near the pump when the hood switch is pressed also getting 12v to the pump when the hood switch is pressed The oil in the pump is around the halfway mark with the hood closed it may be worth noting that I had a similar problem last week and the hood started working again the following day .....hopefully it will start working again LOL
