can anyone help me i have a mk5 cab its a 1.4 CFI cvh was going to put a 2.0 zetec in her out of a mondeo i have but am now selling that because i got a rs lump it came wit a kit car we got for the missis and dont no what its out the inlet manifold id blank \ dont say efi or mfi on it (look at pic)

so the prob that i have is what ecu or loom can i use to put this engine in my mk5

The efi head has bits sort of cut out around the inlet ports for the injectors and an efi will have a coilpack as opposed to a distributor, an efi also has a crank position sensor in the front of the block on the right. More than likely a custom manifold if it was out of a kit car did you not get some management with it ?

thanks that did help so def a MFI as it needs a dizzy cap lol

still have no clue of what loom i need or ecu ???

when i say with a kit car i mean it was in the back seat lol i ahve nothing for it just the engine no hoses . but do have two turbos so the pricey bits i have lol

Would advise using the EFI CVH setup from the fiesta turbo on that. Will need a an adapter for fuel rail and couple on sensor mounting bracket depending on the gearbox and flywheel you use. Otherwise you will have to carry over the two ecu's and the metering unit which is a whole load of stuff to custum mount.

hi mate thanks for the info but have a MFI setup just needed to no what ecu i will need and can i keep my CFI engine loom (well parts of it lol) and just swap over the ecu's ??

I imagine you'd need the whole MFI engine loom I don't know if it matters if it's from an rst or not, both ecu's from an erst and as lee said all the metering unit with all the fuel pipes that come with it lol + a whole load of other bits really(manifold, downpipe, coil, dizzy etc etc). You might be better off finding one with a shagged engine and rotten body and then you should have all you need.
