Guest RelaxedDiver Posted February 20, 2010 Share Posted February 20, 2010 just went to close the door and it didnt stay shut, the clip that springs up to hold the u clasp round the post doesnt pop into place. any ideas, and is it true that on a mk 6 you need to take the glass out to take the lock out? gingergman Posted February 22, 2010 Share Posted February 22, 2010 have you changed the alingment of the door so it doesnt line up? Try greeseing it up, i doubt you have to remove the window, when the window is up it should be out the way, take the door card off and see if the lock is accesable Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest RelaxedDiver Posted February 22, 2010 Share Posted February 22, 2010 nah, havent changed the door at all, all i did was close the door and was about to drive off when it started coming open lol. will try and find some grease to put down in it, did spray some wd40, but to no avail. i did take the door card off to have a quick butchers, but it didnt seem to easily come out like it has on other vehicles, didnt have a great deal of time to look as i was loosing light fast lol Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest shaun Posted March 27, 2010 Share Posted March 27, 2010 Hi peeps sure you have to take window runner out to get to the lock as there is a metal plate covering and this is stuck to runner...sure it's stuck with black sealant to stop it vibrating... Guest nik Posted March 27, 2010 Share Posted March 27, 2010 thanx shaun i have already tried wd40 and also took the lock apart and the key barrel out but cant seem to get it past the runner which seems welded to the door!!! really annoying, the lock seems to have reversed but the other side is still the same tried my haynes manual, no help.. it is in the gatage for the winter but when i get it out will have more time and space will try something else then...was also wondering about the m.o.t. and does this affect this because if it dosn,t i will leave it alone as i can live with it...by the way i am from barry in south wales any meets around this area???
