mickyfin32
I have bought twin Morette headlights but noticed one problem, they have no indicators ! They dont have any built in, one is a fog and the other is normal light with side light, how do I get around this problem because it just leaves the side light visible and someone said this is an mot failure ? HELP !!!! Edited September 16, 2009 by CHARLZY Grammar and Spelling !!!
Escort Cabriolet Club
The lights are as they come from the factory mate, there is an outer Dipped light and an inner Main Beam light, the outer also has a Side Light, when they were new you got a set of Indicators that mount in the bumper by cutting a hole but you didn't get them by the sounds of it !!! :msg3: Not to worry, there are 3 options for you !!! 1 - The inner Dipped light takes a H4 bulb which as you may or may not know has a twin filliment so it can be used for Dipped and Main Beam like the original Mk4 Escort Headlights, only the dipped function is used, just pop the wires from the Main Beam from the inner light and you can then have Dipped and Main on the Outer and put an indicator bulb into the inner light !!! 2 - Find the proper indicator units, PM Ady for a start as I seem to remember the White Mk4 he is breaking had some fitted, failing that they do pop up on ebay !!! 3 - Use a different bumper mounted indicator unit, CabbyDaz used a set of Triangular Focus Side Repeaters mounted on the front bumper of his Mk4 and Rach used a set of Mk2 Golf Side Repeaters on her Mk4, alternatively you could use these I have posted a Link for below, they can be used as Indicators and have adriving light in them too !!! Guest tacha_maree
if you check out the morettes on my moonstone cab i have side repeaters mounted onto the bumper but it creates a problem.... side repeaters are 5watt, normal indicators are 21watt so the it makes the indicators flash quickly as if there were no bulbs. Escort Cabriolet Club
No worries, you can get Zero (0) Rated Relays which illiminate that fast flash, its basicly a Relay without the warning device built in which is what the fast flash is, just to tell you theres a bulb out !!!
