Basilbear
Hi Marc, I'm not sure whether it would be suitable for a cabby and I am sure others on here will let you know.....however if it isn't and you decide to get rid of the ST24 I'd be interested as I'm after a good spare car with good engine for my ST24. Thanks Avril
Guest Lee81
I have seen this engine put in a MK4 cabby and a MK5 hardtop so it is possible. From what i have seen alot of fabrication to get clearance and mount parts in different places is needed. Its alot of work and also you will have to change suspension to a custom spec as the V6 is very heavy. It will mount direct to either IB5 or MTX75 gearbox so not problems there
Escort Cabriolet Club
As above, it has been done on a Mk4 Cab but it required massive amounts of custom work, it needed a custom fron slam fabricating from scratch, custom mounts, exhaust, ECU etc, for the cost its going to take you might as well Turbo a ZETEC as at least that will go in !!! Theres a lad on here trying to put a Focus RS engine in his Mk6 but its been ongoing for 18 months, thats a heck of a long time not being able to enjoy the car on the road !!! Go for a 2.0 ZETEC with some stronger internals and custom engine management like Emerald as you can do all that a lot more easily and cheaply than trying to put in an engine not ment for that car, plus its much heavyer and compomises handling !!!
