Guest tenbyford
1989 Cabriolet perfect but for an annoying issue with the starter. Fine when cold but when warm the starter is very slow, I have changed the starter 3 times with quality recons and even invested in a heat shield. I had to wait 30 minutes the other day outside a shop for it to cool before stating was enabled.
Guest bobatporty
as you must have ruled out starter problems check out your wiring mate
RobMk4TwinCarb
Check your coil, if yours is a model with one, they can overheat and stop the car from starting until they are cool again.

iansoutham
Both of you need to check your earth connections from the battery to the engine and from the battery to the shell. Also, check the power lead from the battery to the stater as this is almost certainly where your problem is.
Admin Paul Posted October 23, 2009 Admin Share Posted October 23, 2009 Have to agree with Ian, start at the basics first.
