Guest micxr3i Posted August 21, 2009 Share Posted August 21, 2009 Im currently in the process of building a 1.8 engine from a mondeo ready to put in my mk4 escort cab ive been told to put some twin carbs on it but i mentioned it to someone else today who said i will need a stand alone ignition unit as carbs dont run off a dizzy cap is this true? The only thing the carbs might need is a fuel cut off signal + choke electrics but if your using some weber 45s or something theres nothing to do. badger Posted August 27, 2009 Share Posted August 27, 2009 right then, let get this straight if your putting a zetec in there is no dizzy cap you'll need an ecu to get ignition and there are no timing adustments on the zetec the whole system runs of the ecu with the crank sensor and a trottle postion sensor (which i belive you can buy to fit twin carbs).
