Guest suffolk04
booked my mk4 into a bodyshop, gave them genuine ford wings. but they won't fit!!!!!! it all matches up under the bonnet, but doesnt fit on the sill because of a piece of metal at the bottom of the wing touching the sill. Anyone know what to do? or had this problem? gotta go back to the bodyshop tomorrow.
Guest dee1orean
Seems simple to me, cut away the piece of metal causing the obstruction. If they are any kind of decent bodyshop then they'll be able to make the wings fit. Jez.
Guest suffolk04
thats the plan, but what is the piece of metal there for? the guy didnt want to bodge it on, without me saying so first, but i was curious on why that piece was there and wouldn't fit with it on. have you had/fitted any? Guest suffolk04
all sorted, i asked him how he did the wings, he said he left the metal on, and wielded it all the the sill, very happy with the end job, but no so happy with the history of the car, drivers wing doesn't fully line up because the cars had a bump in the past.
