My Staurday was booked up with a little job......changing the engine in Little Cab. I was fed up of having to push it everytime I stopped it. lol. It wouldn't rev over 3000 without sounding like a bag of spanners. So I bowed down and did it.

I got home from work at about 1.30 and started straight away.

Why do cars always look cool with no bonnet. lol

An hour and a half later and it was out. This engine is soooooooo easy to work on. lol.

As you know Im trying to clean it up aswell so a small purchase from the local cheapo shop.

Then an hour later and we have some pritty clean inner wings and gearbox.

Then desaster. While swaping a few bits from old engine to new I got a little heavy handed and snapped this.

After getting a little stressed I thought I'd carry on a sort that latter. So the new engine went in. Obviously, now pissed off, keeping things cleans was not a priority. lol.

Oh dear

Tie wraps are not just a fix for drifters. lol.

Swapped the rocker back to the RS1600i and bobs your uncle.

Fired up almost straight away but a little tappety. The lad said the tappets were a little noisey. So stopped it and swapped the tappets out the old engine as I knew the top end was sound.

All sored and finnished with bonnet on about 8pm. So start to finish including a good cleaning session was about 6 hours. Not bad really.

A quick trip to breakers yesterday to replace the broken part and it all good. YAY.

It's no rocket but it smoother and a shit load quieter. lol.

I am lazy, but when something NEEDS sorting I'm not too bad. lol. I actually enjoyed doing it. It went really well apart from the snapped connector.

I've got it to do on BigCab soon, that's the one I'm NOT looking forward too. That's defo a winter project not a 6 hour job. The engine bay is discusting on BigCab really so a lot of tidying. I never like opening the bonnet when people's around. lol.

Sorry for later reply.

Its great. Silly things like gear changes. It will easily pull off from a crawl in 2nd, I would have needed to go down to 1st before. Hills are the same, it'll comfortably pull up hills in 4th were I would have normally needed to go down to 3rd or even 2nd

It starts first time every time now too. That's the best bit. It such a relief going out knowing it'll start. lol.

Also, it went through the MOT like a good un in friday. Just an advisory on a leaking brake cylinder. But not leaking enough to effect the braking. I will change it before it gets worse. They're not a lot of money and an easy change.

Sorted.

Fits straight on. You'd need to extend one breather hose. But thats about it. There's a little breather on the back that needs blocking too.

It wont go on the RST engine due to the cross over pipe.
