ianxr3i
S2 Rs Turbo is a quick upgrade from the standard XR3i brakes. You will need 260mm Disc's, RS calipers & caliper mounting brackets. I have done mine & it took me a couple of hours & that includes bleeding the front brakes

iansoutham
If you decide to go for the 260mm route, get a set of brake calipers and brackets from either a Sierra or Granada (not Scorpio) with ABS. They have 260mm calipers as standard. Best option is someone selling a set of 2.9 XR4x4 calipers. That way you do not pay any "RS" tax. You can also go for bigger brakes if using 15" or bigger wheels. Use 283mm 2wd Cosworth front discs and 1986-1992 Granada 24V front calipers. They are a straight bolt-on job using 1mm flat washers between the caliper bracket and the knuckle. If using 1992 onwards calipers, you need to drill the front knuckle out to 12mm as the later ones use M12 bolts, not M10 like earlier models. ianxr3i
Do i have to swap the master cylinder from rs? I know that rs had bigger bore on the master cylinder... No Mate. I didn't change my master cylinder & it works 100% with the RS Turbo front brakes. While your doing the pipework for the brakes, you could change the front hoses to braided hoses. You will get a firm pedal compared to the standard rubber hoses Edited November 18, 2009 by ianxr3i

I allready have goodridge braided hoses. I have-to rebuilt the calibers first and then but them in the car.

Guest tacha_maree
the zetec cab im braking has a rear disc conversion using granada cosworth rear calipers and st front callipers i think. my moonstone cabby has cossie front calipers and discs and braked really well
Guest steelcabby
the system i used was sierra cossie 4 pots on front and sierra cossie 2wd rear calipers and discs. stopped very well. rs fronts are also good, but not a big big improvment. if you want nice stopping power. go for the focus st 170 front brake convertion. but you will need big wheels to fit them in.
