Guest PJR
Hi all I've just bought a Mk4 cabby. one issue which myself, and the previous owner, found is that when you shut the door with the roof down, the window will not sit under the seal, and lets rain in. The previous owners solution was to fit a Clifford with Smart Windows, putting the windown down a bit when he stopped, then up when he locked it. That way, it goes up underneath the seal. I know other convertibles have a system where the window automatically went down a bit whenever the door was opened, and up again when shut. Was this ever on the Mk4? Or is there an obvious problem i'm missing?
gingergman
if you take the door card off theres a bolt roughly in the middle of the door, you can ajust how far the window goes up by moving this bolt up or down then tightning it again, its hard to explain what i mean, you will see its the only bolt that just doesnt unscrew, hope that makes sence, look in the haynes manual. just make it sit a tad lower! Vincygav
The system you talk about is on BMW and a few other convertables, when you open the door it would lower the window by 5 mm automatically. when the door is closed fully after 3 seconds, the window would raise up that extra 5mm to create a perfect seal. Do they have a special relay to do this?
Guest bolf
if you push the door closed with the top corner of the window its usually enough to seal well
