Hi ive lowerd my escort mk6 around 40mm i think using standerd shocks and just lowering springs, basicly its been done on the cheap to get my escort cosworth wheels on but the bottom or the car scrapes to much and ibe had enough

what suspension set ups are available to give my car no more than a 20-30mm drop?

coilovers or suspension units im not bother i just want to sort out the ride before i sell it or change the wheels

yeh scrapes on speedbumps, i think its on the plate that is underneath the exhaust

also i carnt have more than 3 people in the car including me else it rubs on the arch's too much

yeh i do that anyway but some arnt broken so even if you hit the bumps at a angle so only one wheel goes up the bump at a time it still scrapes a bit

HI MATT, FOINDING IM HAVING THE SAME TROUBLE ON MY MK4, AM JUNKING THE 17s AND GOING BACK TO 15 INCH WHEELS, AT LEAST THAT WAY YOU CAN DRIVE OVER THINGS LIKE MATCH STICKS WITHOUT THE FEAR OF RUBBING!, ALSO IM HEADING BACK TO STANDARD RIDE HIGHT, THEY ARE SOO MUCH NICER TO DRIVE WITH THE STANDARD SETUP, ALL THE BEST, BERT :party09:

cheers the thing is i love my escos wheels i get soooo many comments on them, it doesnt rub ive done some work to the archs but its the underneath thats the problem, im sure its the plate under the exhaust im gonna remove it see what its like

im also going to get some bilstein 30mm drop springs and shocks this should be alot better than lowering springs on crappy shocks

if that fails mate i have a set of 16" mondeo five spokes very similar to the cosworths i would be willing to swap you that should stop your rubbing issues?

if its just the rubbing problem have your arches crimped or change tyre size cos that worked for me 205/40/17 sorted rubbing

but they came with 215/45/17 and rubbed like a dog on heat

after change in tyre size had 5 people crammed in back and no rubbing (mr policeman it was a 7 seater honest guv )
