Escort Cabriolet Club
Er, no lol, 215 is the Width of the wheel so only 215 tyres will fit, 45 is the hight of the tyre, the lower you go the less tyre you have and it lowers the car !!! I have 215/45/17's on mine and they are FORD MONDEO ST Alloys so fit perfectly, got a little rubbing on full lock on the inner splash guard but don't need it on full lock most of the time, I do get a little rubbing on the rear shocks when going arround corners and thats with 5mm shims on but that is due to having worn out struts, it should be cured with new shocks !!! escortcabrioletclub
sorry but 215 is the width of the tyre not the wheel and depending on the j of the rim witch is the width of the wheel depends on tyre size that will fit so if a 7j rim a 205 and a 215 and a 225 will go

Guest Alanman
I have some 215 45 17s and they rub like a bitch on standard suspension. Mine are on a Mk4 with the lowered RS skirt. Its rubbing on the skirt as it comes round into the rear arch. I'd recomend 205 40

Im hoping to have it lowerd in the next week or 2 by 30mm rear and 35mm front il let you know how they are then.
Guest Alanman
The offset of the alloy can sometimes be a factor with rubbing. On the same car with the same susspension I had some 18s with 215 40 18 tires and I only had half the rubbing of the 17s. lol.
